Ursa Major Award For Trapper Creek Water

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation awarded the Trapper Creek Watering Point the highest award for compliance.

Since its inception, the watering point has dispensed more than 240,000 gallons, or about 6,000 gallons per month. The Water Point Committee says that usage has increased each month.

The Ursa Major is an award available for public drinking water supplies around the state. Trapper Creek Community Services Association has operated the watering point since April 2020. Since that time, they have complied with all testing and reporting requirements.

Trapper Creek received the award specifically for maintaining four quarters of operator certification. In addition, the water point has no open, unresolved, or incurred drinking water violations during the 2022 award year.
