Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon

The 35th annual Talkeetna-Trapper Creek Birdathon begins on Friday, May 2nd, at 6 pm and continues until 6 pm on Saturday, May 3rd. Area residents and their guests are welcome to participate by identifying as many species of birds as can be found in the count circle during the 24 hour period. You can go birding by yourself or with family or friends, traveling “green” or using a vehicle. Participants gather around a fire in the evening on Saturday. The gathering will be on the gravel bar near the corner of Third and B Street, past the Talkeetna Inn.  If you have questions, leave a message for Jeff or Deb at 907 733-2066.

Wildland Preparedness Public Education Day – Willow Caswell Fire Station

Willow Caswell Fire Station Mile 69.5 Parks Highway, Willow

Willow CERT and Willow Caswell Fire Department host Wildland Preparedness Public Education Day on Saturday, May 3rd at the Willow Fire Station from 11am until 5pm. There will be a car wash, fire safe presentations, and BBQ food. More information at the Willow CERT Facebook Page.

Willow Community Clean-up

Willow Community Center

Willow Area Community Organization hosts the annual Willow Community Clean-up from 12 to 5pm on Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th. Yellow trash bags may be picked up from Newman's Gas Station, Roni's Deli, and the Willow Community Center Lobby. A dumpster is available in the Community Center parking for collected trash from MatSu Borough Roadways, Right of Ways and Public Lands. More information at waco-ak.org.
