    Talkeetna Public Library Talkeetna

    Talkeetna Library’s Breakfast Book Club meets at 9:30am by the fireplace on Wednesday, February 11th. The selection for this month, in honor of Black History Month, is What the Fireflies Knew by Kai Harris. The book club meets in person and on Zoom. Breakfast snacks and beverages will be served.   • 16th Annual Crowley Classic – Susitna Valley High School

    Susitna Valley High School’s Varsity tournament, the Crowley Classic, begins at 3:30 pm on Thursday, February 12th and continues on Friday, February 13th. Teams hosted will be the girls & boys from Dillingham, Tok, Huslia, Unalaska and Tri-Valley. The full schedule can be found on the high school’s Facebook Page.

  • Complexities of Love variety show – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council hosts their most loved variety show of the year, Complexities of Love, showcasing some of Talkeetna’s talented community members through music, performance, and artistic expression, on Friday and Saturday, February 13th and 14th at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar.   • CERT Training

    The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) hosts a free 3-day course for teens and adults at the Upper Susitna Community & Senior Center from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, March 14th and 15th, and Saturday, March 21st.   • Love on the Loops relay race

    Multi Users of Talkeetna Trails (MUTT) and Denali Nordic Ski Club are hosting Love on the Loops relay race a collaboration human and dog powered relay race. The event as at Talkeetna Lakes Park off Comsat Rd. on February 14th, at noon, starting on X lake. Each relay loop is around 5 km and bib pick up is 11:20 am.   • Learn How to Wax Your Skis clinic – Denali Nordic Ski Club

    Denali Nordic Ski Club hosts a Learn How to Wax Your Skis clinic on Sunday, February 15th from 3 to 6 pm at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar. Attendees may bring skate or classic skis, one pair per person. The clinic will host 1 hour of instruction and discussion about types of skis for different uses, followed by 2 hours of participants waxing their own skis. Snacks and beverages will be provided.   • Stained Glass Workshop – Denali Arts Council

    Denali Arts Council hosts a stained glass workshop on Saturday, February 21st. This 6 hour workshop will be instructed by Debra Whaley, who has been a stained glass artist for 45 years. Participants will be able to choose between 5 different designs. All materials will be provided and participants will be able to take a completed stained glass project home.
